How far is it to the beach from Villa Karingal ?

Villa Karingal is located in a peaceful residential area on a hillside, just outside Senggigi. It takes just 5 minutes to get to the beach by taxi (the fare is around US$2).

Are there restaurants and shops near Villa Karingal ?

Senggigi is  only 5 minutes away by taxi. There you can find a wide range of local and international restaurants and bars, small supermarkets, an art-market, doctors, pharmacies, spas, and ATMs.

How do we get to Lombok from Bali ?

The quickest way is by “fast boat” from Padang Bai in the East or Benoa harbor in the South of Bali. In the peak season make sure you book well in advance. You can also take a flight from Denpasar to Lombok International Airport which takes only 30 minutes.

How do we get around in Lombok ?

The best option is to hire a car, with or without driver. Our staff can help you arrange this at good local rates. Motorbike hire is also available and is also a popular option. Alternatively you can use Bluebird or Express taxi services or Grab/Gojek. Our staff can book taxis for you or you can find the taxi company phone numbers in your room and make your own arrangements.

Is there an airport or harbour transfer service ?

We can arrange airport or harbour transfer to and from Villa Karingal. A car and driver will meet you on arrival in Lombok and bring you up to the villa. Alternatively you can take an airport taxi from the airport and have the driver call the villa for directions. A public shuttle bus service (Damri) is also available between the airport and Senggigi.

Can I smoke in my room ?

No, we have a strict non-smoking policy in our guest rooms. But you may smoke on your terrace where an ashtray is provided.

Can I eat in my room or get room service ?

Sorry, no, we serve breakfast and other meals on request in the gazebo and guests are not allowed to eat in their rooms for hygiene reasons.

How do we obtain information on the best places to visit while in Lombok ?

Your British/Australian host and her staff can give you advice on different places to visit on the island ranging from Lombok’s most sophisticated restaurants to the undiscovered beaches on the South coast, the best snorkeling destinations, pearl farm tours and remote villages where you can see the handicraft industries of Lombok at first-hand. Guide services can be provided for an extra charge.

Is there access to wi-fi ?

Yes, fiber optic Internet access is available (wi-fi in all areas of the property) free of charge.

Can we bring our children to Villa Karingal ?

Because the location of our villa is on the edge of a hillside, although adequately fenced on all sides for adults and older children, for safety reasons we only accept children of twelve years and above.

Is Villa Karingal a gay-friendly property?

Villa Karingal is certainly a gay-friendly property. We have already hosted many gay couples.

Is it possible to add an extra bed to the guest rooms to accommodate more people ?

No, each guest room is restricted to occupancy of 2 people only.

Can I host a party at Villa Karingal ?

Special event arrangements can only be made with prior approval from the villa owner.

Can we use credit cards to make payments in Lombok ?

Credit cards are widely accepted by the larger restaurants and resorts but smaller companies, including the local supermarkets and car hire businesses, may only accept cash.

How do I pay for my accommodation at Villa Karingal ? 

To secure the booking with us, a payment of a 30-50% deposit depending on how busy the period is. The balance should be paid 30 days prior to arrival, or on check-in if booking is made at short notice.. We accept payments in cash in different currencies (Indonesian Rupiah, US Dollar, Australian Dollar, Euros, British Pounds). Credit card payment facilities are available.

Is the room rate subject to government tax and service charges ?

There are no extra charges. Our published room rates already include 21% tax and services.

Should we tip the staff at Villa Karingal ?

Although a service charge is included in our rates, if you are happy with the services received from our staff, you are welcome to leave an extra tip, it will always be appreciated.

What is the cancellation policy?

The 30% deposit is non-refundable. Balance payment to be made 30 days before arrival. If you then cancel your booking at least 15 days before your arrival date, you are entitled to a refund of 50%. If however, you cancel less than 5 days before arrival, your complete payment is non-refundable.

What is the best time of year to visit Lombok?

Lombok is blessed with a warm tropical climate all the year round.  Although climatic conditions are not always predictable, the dry season generally runs from April to September and the rainy season from October to March. Even during the rainy season, however, there is still plenty of sunshine with an average temperature of 30°C all year round.

Peak season is from early July till mid-September, and over the Christmas / New Year period.

Lombok’s popularity is growing steadily, but in comparison to Bali, it is still quiet and unspoilt, even during  high season.
